“Let Me Sleep”

This is a humorous, though sad take on the effects of drinking too much alcohol. Enough said.
Verse
Let me sleep. In my drink.
Till I get sick. In the sink.
You know I have. A sinking feeling.
That secret was. Much too revealing.
Chorus
Much too hard for me to handle this.
My drink puts me in a state of bliss.
Now to the table I have nothing to bring.
I’ve gone asleep and I’ll forget everything.
Verse
I know you think. That you can help me.
I know you can. Get me a whiskey.
An intervention? You must be joking.
On my own laughter. I find me choking.
Chorus
It always gets easier to handle this.
Sip, shot or jigger puts me in a state of bliss.
Now to the table I have nothing to bring.
Except a bottle and all that’s left is one small swig.
Solo
Verse
Let me drink. Till I am full.
Visit my friend. In porcelain bowl.
I know that drink. It makes me talk.
And makes my spleen. Hard as a rock.
Too many drinks. I’ll be in bed.
Shake me to wake me. If not I’m dead.
